Team still working hard even though it was 3am!

At 8am on Thursday the 15th, several university teams of multiple disciplines came together to compete in the annual 24 hour challenge. The challenge consists of teams being given three words, then splitting off and creating either a game/animation, all within the 24 hour time limit.

The three words we were given were 'Friction', 'Jungle' and 'Spirit'. From there, our team jumped straight into making our game, Firestarters. The concept of the game was for players to create a torch from a centre bonfire to present to their animal spirit totems, with three torches needing to be presented to the totem in order to win the round. However, players had the ability to steal other player's torches and blow them out while they are away from their totems.

Below is a quick evolution of the game:

Once a player had summoned their spirit animal, a victory track would play.

It was an incredible experience watching everyone pour everything into their discipline, and we were all proud with the final product, which we got runners up for in the final competition. Congratulations to all those involved!
